You know Justin Vernon? Bon Iver? The guy with a falsetto? Well he’s recorded a new album under the name of The Shouting Matches with Phil Cook and Brian Moen.

Oh my. This is one humdinger of an album, I did not expect this at all but I’m so impressed by Vernon’s flexibility. It’s an impressive show of talent in switching from singer-songwriter to blues maestro. It’s similar to Blue Eyed Soul or what you could call ‘White Boy Blues’, it would bring a tear to Eric Clapton’s eyes with a dash of Tom Petty indeed.

There’s just such a wide variety of sounds in 35 mins of soul that you can’t describe. I have one recommendation, see these guys.

They’ve scored a spot at Coachella (if only I could go…)
